 2017 Preview

R.C. Hatch completed the 2016 season with a 5-6 record. With their 3-3 region record and a fourth place finish in Class 2A region four, the Bobcats earned a spot in the playoffs in 2016. R.C. Hatch's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to Elba by a score of 40-8.

The Bobcats have never won a playoff game in the school's history. They would like to break through and pick up that first post season victory in 2017.

Since 2010, R.C. Hatch has gone a combined 25-47. Their 35.0% winning percentage ranks 42nd in Class 2A over the past seven seasons.

Over the past 25 seasons, R.C. Hatch has not won much with a record of 39-200. Their 16.0% winning percentage ranks 57th in Class 2A and 379th in the AHSAA. The Bobcats have struggled on the football field with only two winning seasons during this time.

The Bobcats are led by head coach Jammie Abraham who is entering his sixteenth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 34-112 over the past fifteen seasons at R.C. Hatch. Under his direction the Bobcats have qualified for the playoffs a total of two times. They have not won a region crown with Coach Abraham.

Coach Abraham's overall record as a head football coach in fifteen season stands at 34-112 (23.3%).

The R.C. Hatch Bobcats will play in Class 2A region four during the 2017 season.

With a little luck and some improvement, the Bobcats could find themselves challenging for one of the playoff spots for region four this season.

The Bobcats open the 2017 season at home against non-region opponent A.L. Johnson on Friday, August 25 at Bobcat Stadium. Last year the A.L. Johnson Eagles finished with an overall record of 4-6 and in fifth place in Class 1A region one.

R.C. Hatch and A.L. Johnson have met a total of 20 times on the football field. The Bobcats have a 7-13-0 record against the Eagles. They last met in 2016 with R.C. Hatch winning by a score of 12-6.
